| Pastor Trevor Stewart Thank you for taking the time to visit the Beacon Light Tabernacle's website. I hope it gives you some understanding of who we are as a church family. It is our desire as a local church to have a measurable impact on our community and our city. My greatest joy is being able to introduce people to Jesus and to help them discover or rediscover their faith. If you have questions about faith and how it relates to your life, I would like to encourage you to visit us for a service or contact me. Another of my passions is to see people discover their potential to serve the Lord. If you are looking for a church home, please feel welcome to join us for any of our regular weekly services. Some of our gatherings are small and others are large, but we desire to meet with the Lord every time we get together. If you have questions about our church or our faith that are not answered on these web pages, please use one of the links or other contact information to reach our office or pastoral staff. Our History
"The Early Years"
Beacon Light Seventh-Day Adventist Church was founded by Elder George Sampson with his family and a few members of Trinity Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Poughkeepsie, New York. In 1974, with membership of 30, Elder Sampson and Pastor Gilbert Foster applied to the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-Day Adventist for full church status. After renting from various churches and store front facilities, the Beacon congregation in 1984 purchased property at 37 North Avenue in Beacon, New York. However, through eminent domain, urban renewal claimed the property to widen the roads on Route 9D, leaving the Beacon members without a place of worship.
The Northeastern Conference of Seventh-Day assigned Pastor Gilbert Foster as the District Pastor for the lower Hudson Valley. Pastor Foster played an active role in the leadership of the newly established church.
The saints of Beacon Light Tabernacle had a vision to again have permanent place of worship. In 1986, Beacon Light Tabernacle purchased the property and dedicated on the weekend of September 5-7 2003. The property consists of 5 acres of land and a three bedroom house.
Using the Salvation Army as a temporary place of worship, the church consistently prayed, fasted, planned, and sacrificed for the construction of the new sanctuary. Finally, in March 2000 construction began for a new and permanent place of worship.
There were days of trials and tribulations in the construction of God's sanctuary. The church members praise and thank God for his infinite wisdom, provision, and guidance. In September 2001, Beacon Light Tabernacle Church building was completed. After 29 years, we have now entered into our permanent earthly home. Our wilderness journey has ended. LET ALL OF GOD’S PEOPLE PRAISE HIS NAME! AMEN!

This hymnal, published in 1985, includes 695 hymns and gospel songs. It contains the best of fine old hymns, early Advent hymns, contemporary hymns, favorites from the Church Hymnal, American folk hymns, modern gospel songs, compositions by Adventists, 225 Scripture readings and worship aids, and 11 indexes.
